Job Summary
We are hiring a results-driven Area Sales Manager to manage sales performance across a designated territory. The role involves coaching Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives (PSRs), planning product launches, analyzing market trends, and driving team productivity. The candidate will ensure alignment with organizational strategies while maximizing market coverage and revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct on-the-job brand coaching and strategic implementation across doctors, hospitals, and territories
Plan and execute new product launches and develop weekly and quarterly input plans for PSRs
Guide PSRs on brand strategies, market engagement, and doctor-product alignment
Modify communication tactics based on market dynamics and approve promotional requests per MCI and company guidelines
Establish hospital relationships and support purchase officers to optimize commercial success
Lead Retailer Chemist Prescription Audit (RCPA) activities, assess competitors, and track doctor potential
Collect and analyze feedback and strategic results to improve product success within hospital networks
Provide performance appraisals, set team goals, mentor PSRs in communication and relationship-building
Qualifications
Graduation in science or a related discipline
Minimum 7–10 years of Sales and Marketing experience in the pharmaceutical sector
4–5 years in a managerial role
